Pun Fun

8336
A pun is defined by Webster as "the humorous use of a word, or of words which are formed or sounded alike but have different meanings, in such a way as to play on two or more of the possible applications; a play on words."

Here’s a list of some funny puns I found:

To write with a broken pencil is pointless.
Talking to her about computer hardware I make my mother board.
He drove his expensive car into a tree and found out how the Mercedes bends.
I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.

A grenade thrown into a kitchen in France would result in Linoleum Blownapart.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
A bicycle can't stand on its own because it is two-tired.
When a clock is hungry it goes back four seconds.
Buying a cheap mouse could leave you with a squeak and a sad tale.
Those who jump off a Paris bridge are in Seine.
A student limped into class with a lame excuse.
The couple who met in a revolving door are still going round together.
She was given a violin lesson for free, with no strings attached.
He was a restaurant critic but had no taste.
Thirsty jokers can be seen waiting in the punch line.

Puns are my favourite..
here's a pun joke for you

According to Islam who's the fastest man on earth?

Adam

He was the first in the human race

LoL, that's a good one Omar, I remembered that you liked puns while I was writing the post.

hehehhehe good ones I like them all.

Abu Remanneh what a lovely pun! I personally find that arabic puns have much more wit in them than English ones...oh and I love reading your blog(sorry for not writing in arabic!)

can anybody explain the arab joke to me, i've either, not understood some words or it's not funny, lol.

If your eyes are like lakes,
Why didn't I drown yet ?

Oz-It’s ok Oz. I’ll do my best to explain this pun to you. I’ll start by explaining the tricky words:
Kalla: means to be tired and exhausted
Matni: means back or body
3ila sabri: means to lose patience

So the literal translation of the pun would be:
I knocked at the door till I became tired, once I became tired, she spoke to me and said: Oh Ismail have patience! So I told her: Oh Assma I have lost all my patience!

As you can see the Arabic pun is much more beautiful than my bad translation! But I hope you understand it now.

Anonymous- Thank you for your comment although I have no Idea what’s it supposed to mean.

How come u don't post in Arabic?

Reader-Thanks for stopping by my blog. When I first started blogging I didn't know one could use arabic characters, and since I had already started out in English I chose to continue in the same language. Maybe when I have more time I'll start a blog in Arabic...

You have nice site!!
